About Me
Claire Kim is a senior in the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts at Bergen County Academies, where she pursues her interests in writing, music, and history across disciplines. She finds discovering underrepresented stories especially meaningful and values the small details that reveal how people express their identities within a community.
Claire has explored the intersection of history and material culture through her research on Harlem Renaissance zines and her exhibition for National History Day. Her interest in storytelling also extends beyond formal research. As the founder of Stories in Color, she has led interactive read-aloud programs for young children, using picture books and DIY activities to foster an appreciation for shared cultural experiences.
